The 5K Family Recovery Run/Walk event is a run/walk in Mechanicsburg to raise awareness of substance use disorders and recovery for the whole family. Our mission is to help families impacted by a loved one’s active substance use and families who have had a substance-related loss. We aim to help, heal, and strengthen families in our communities by offering education, compassionate support, and by creating a nurturing atmosphere for those dealing with a loved one’s substance use or experiencing a substance-related loss.
The 5k Family Recovery Run/Walk will take place at Vibrant Church/Adventure Park on Saturday, September 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at 1775 Lambs Gap Rd, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 and we are operating under a 501c3.
During this run/walk we will be raising money for Sara’s House of Hope. The money raised from this event will go toward our mission to strengthen our community with education, support, and to provide a nurturing atmosphere for those who are experiencing grief and loss. Come see our Family Recovery Center, which encompasses all things Family recovery, raising awareness and providing education on the epidemic our community is facing.
New this year we are going to have different courses for Runners and Walkers, so come out and have some fun and support a great cause. We are also asking that if you would like to ask Family, Friends, Neighbors and Coworkers to sponsor you as you walk or Run we would greatly appreciate the support. Simply collect the money and turn it in on Race/Walk day, there will be a prize for the person who collects the most money.
So far we have raised $12,765 towards our $15,000 target! That’s 85% of the total!

- Register yourself and other members of your organization to participate in the 5K Family Recovery Walk/Run event (see Registration page)
- Collect Money for Sara’s House of Hope from family, friends, neighbors and coworkers in support of you walking/running and have a chance to win a prize for most money collected. Simply bring the money on the Day of the Race/Walk.
